Febraury was definitely a mixed bag, beauty wise and life wise. Life wise there were definitely some good times with some great friends but also some seriously sad times so I'm really embracing March and the beautiful weather it seems to have brought along with it! Beauty wise, it was definitely a combination of new discoveries and rediscoveries...
I tried to love the L’Oreal Micellar Water, I really did but after going through about 3-4 bottles in a matter of months, I was beginning to question whether it was worth the slightly sticky residue and mascara tugging that it brought along with it. When I then spotted my beloved Bioderma, gleaming on the shelves in a pharmacy around the corner from work with a, can you believe buy one get one free offer my beauty loving mits could not control themselves and straight they went into the basket. I bought the two 250ml bottles for £10.00 which works out being even cheaper than you seem to be able to get online for these days, cray cray. If there are any beauty noobs reading this at all, Micellar waters are cleansing solutions that feel like water and dissolve your makeup in seconds. Bioderma does this better than any in my opinion and is the only one that truly feels like water and leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished- I’ve loved having this beauty back in my life.
I’d heard a few people rave about this highlighting goodness in a pot and when I found the Best of Topshop Makeup set which included a plethora of Topshop goodies for an incredibly reduced price, I knew I had to have it- even to try this highlighter alone. This is a gorgeous champagne colour with a perfect amount of shimmer that won’t leave you looking like Edward Cullen in the sun. A little dab of this on the high points of the face leaves you with that much sought after Spring/Summer glow in seconds.
Me and Meg picked this up together at a lush event and she’s already raved about it in her February favourites but I'm following suite. This is a push-up solid perfume which smells basically ‘Vanillary’, i.e absolutely amazing and it’s teeny tiny size means its perfect for throwing into your handbag for an on-the-go freshen-up. It’s a very sweet scent without being too overpowering, £6.50 and 100% natural. Gorilla Perfume have a lovely story and great mission statement which is worth a read here. Definitely give these a look-in the next time you’re perusing the aisles of Lush as I know so many of you love to do.
This was a completely unexpected favourite which also came in The Best of Topshop Makeup set as I’d never really given Topshop mascaras a look in or heard much about them. I’ve always struggled with finding Mascaras that give as much volume as they do length but this has 100% defied this. The bristley wand gives me the most full looking lashes out of any other mascaras I’ve tried and isn’t an absolute bugger to get off. WIN and WIN.
Most of the drugstore brands out there have taken their hand to creating a Chubby Stick dupe but I never thought that it would be Seventeen that would come out on top with doing the best. I’ve already tried the new Revlon Lacquer balms and original balms but I have to say, I definitely prefer these Lip Crayons which come in at a more affordable 5.99. They unlike the Revlon ones, don’t smell and taste of menthol, glide on a lot more flawlessly, don’t cling to dry batches and last even longer. I’m currently absolutely in love with ‘Bold’, a vibrant orangey coral which is perfect for Spring.
I’ve realised that I actually also featured this in my January favourites (whoops!) but regardless, Seche Vite is continuing to wow me due to it’s ability to make my nails look incredibly shiny and make my polish last up to 5 days with no chipping at all. I’ve even had more than a few people ask me if I’ve had a Shellac manicure when I use this- so worth the second mention.
I won’t say too much about this as I have a whole blog post lined up dedicated to this little superstar of a product, Benefit’s new brow-volumising gel, Gimme Brow. I had the opportunity to it a couple of months back when Meg got her hands on it early and even then, I knew it was love. This is basically Cara-brows in a bottle, I won’t say anymore. Just hold tight for a post this week...
